Privacy Policy
43 Folders ("the app") is a small, independently made productivity tool. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use it.
What data we collect
43 Folders does not operate a server, does not use analytics or tracking scripts, and does not collect any personal information on our end. We have no visibility into how you use the app, what tasks you create, or when you use it.
Where your data is stored
Depending on which version of the app you use:
- localStorage version: all task data is stored locally in your web browser, on your own device. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
- Google Drive version: task data is stored in a single file in your own Google Drive account. The app communicates directly with Google's servers using your authenticated session -- we do not operate any server in between, and we cannot see or access this file ourselves.
Google Drive access
The Google Drive version requests permission to create and edit a single file of its own (named 43folders-data.json) in your Drive. It does not request access to any other files, folders, photos, or documents in your account. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Cookies and tracking
43 Folders does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or third-party tracking of any kind. The only third-party services contacted are Google's authentication and Drive APIs (Drive version only) and Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used in the interface.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, because we do not have access to it in the first place. There is no account system, no mailing list, and no backend database operated by us.
Your choices
You can export your data at any time as a JSON file using the Export function in the app. You can delete your data by clearing your browser's site storage (localStorage version) or by deleting the data file from your Google Drive (Drive version).
Children's privacy
43 Folders is a general-purpose productivity tool not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, since it collects no data at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top.
